On the streets of Newton Center we happened to meet Stephen Dean and his famous dog Murphy, a 5 year old Golden Retriver. Stephen regaled us with the story about when he received a ticket in the mail adressed to Murphy. The citation was issued because Mr. Murphy decided to take a walk without his leash. Murphy was given two options: (1) to pay the ticket or (2) to request a hearing. Stephen requested a hearing and signed it on Murphy’s behalf!
