Swimming pool for dogs

Pam Tewes recently opened a swimming pool only for dogs in Waltham called Aqua Dog Fitness that caters to dogs in and around Boston.  Some dogs come for therapy, others for their love of water and some just to shed those extra pounds! Her business is so successful that she is already thinking about opening a new swimming pool in the South End!
A one hour lesson at Aqua Dog costs $75, but call ahead because she is pretty booked!

Dogs at the Boston Common

A dog incident happened yesterday at 176 Tremont Street.

“At 3:50pm, officers from District A-1 responded to the Boston Common for a child bitten by a dog. On arrival, officers observed a 7-year-old female victim being treated by Fallon Ambulance. The victim’s parents stated that while walking they stopped and was having a conversation with the owner of the dog when the dog bit the victim. The victim was transported to New England Medical Center treated and released for a non-life threatening injury”.

Some dog owners who usually go to the Common wonder is this incident will effect the off leash space there.

Karice and ChiKaj are two children who came to the Boston Common with their dad Maurice to play with dogs. Karice’s name comes from the combination of her mom and dad name, Kaychj and Maurice. She enjoyed a lot taking pics of Luna and other dogs! Here is one of her nice shots.

Peters Park under construction

>   Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  10:33 am

A lot is going on at Peters Park, the soon-to-be first official city dog park in Boston. We got some updates from the DRS Committee of The Friends of Peters Park, saying that “the actual construction of the new Dog Recreation Space should begin within a few weeks. In the meantime, we’ll be in the new space for a while and then back to the temporary space during DRS construction”.
Here are some pics of the area of the park that it is possible to use, with the dog Koah playing with her new friend!
Koah loves to grab objects that other dogs want, and to run around while other dogs try to catch her.

Also, remember that it is illegal to have a dog off leash in Peters Park outside the DRS, and Animal Control will begin ticketing for this offense.

Pick an egg and some sperm and Fido Fuse your perfect Pooch!

>   The Howler  —  SNIF  @  9:59 am

Imagine you can customize your dog from an automatic machine without moving from one State to the other, like the owner of Lucy, who had to drive to a breeder in Maine to get his perfect playful and smart Goldendoodle, a Golden Retriever and Poodle cross.
A picture of “Fido Fusion”, a funny automatic machine to customize your dog, has been published in the last page of the June 2007 issue of Wired, in the “Artifacts From The Future” section, curated by Sonia Zjawinski. Cross your favourite purebred donors based on coat’s and eyes’s color and create the pooch of your dreams! The only thing missing are personalities characteristics.
