Here is Clyde, a 2 year old puppy. Clyde is a regular at Boston Common. He was there with his mom this morning waiting for friends to play with.

The area of Boston Common where dogs usually run off leash is closed due to reconstruction, and dogs can use another area in the top of the hill.

Who is Mingo? Who is Turbo?

>   Boston Woofstyle  —  SNIF  @  9:24 am

Mingo believes that her and Turbo has been separated at birth, and Turbo agrees!!! This two chocolate long-haired chihuahuas are so similar.

The funny thing is that Mingo first name was Gizmo.

Mingo lives in California and will probably appears next Fall in an ad for the product Ascics Running Shoes. This what Kate wrote us about Mingo.

“Mingo is 2.5 years old. She is named after the performing Chihuahua that my grandmother (Grandma Borgia) owned in the 1950’s. And just two months ago, Mingo did her own little performance. The photographer, George Fulton, was looking for a “yappy comical little dog” and Mingo was picked to be the yappy little dog. Mingo had to bark at the runner as she ran passed the house. Mingo who is a barker decided NOT to bark that day so we decided that if she sat in the yard for awhile she would become more at ease and more territorial. Voila! It worked and Mingo barked and barked and barked for two hours and earned her $500.00.”

Mingo has a supergreat website, and if you like Chihuahua you should check it out! You’ll find out about her adventures at Yellowstone Park, Mount Rushmore, Carmel, Mendocino, Lake Tahoe and the Grand Canyon.

The Fresh Pond Reservoir in Cambridge, MA

>   Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  4:11 pm

img_0221.JPG

The Fresh Pond Reservoir is a little heaven for dogs. So many dogs were around here yesterday (we took these pics just before the big storm), and the great thing is that they can go off leash if their owner is a Cambridge resident. You also need a Cambridge parking permit to park in the Reservoir’s parking lot.
Read more about their Dog Medallion Program here. As the City of Cambridge refers, the Program has been developed in cooperation with Cambridge resident dog owners and City staff in order to better protect our city’s drinking water while allowing Cambridge residents to enjoy a quality off-leash experience with their dog.

There is a long ring around a lake where you can walk with your dog. You can even play golf here.

Dogs also have their own private “swimming pool”.
Here is the beautiful Tigger, a twelve year old female, named from a Winnie Poo character by her owner Lauren. Tigger doesn’t like swimming so much, but she loves run around the “swimming pool” and play with other dogs.

No Bones About It

>   Dog Boutiques  —  SNIF  @  4:24 pm

ajana-dog-boston.jpg

Ajana works as a walker at No Bones About It. She is very sweet and caring with her guests and spoils them with cookies and caresses. Each dog usually goes for a short walk with Ajana or another walker four times a day, and spend the rest of the day inside of the day care.

ajana-cookie-dog-boston.jpg

Karen (below) started No Bones About It six years ago, and she is now pretty popular, as you can see from the number of dogs packed there! The No Bones About it day care, grooming service and shop is located in 1786 Beacon St, in Brookline, MA.

In the Arboretum with Jason the dog walker

>   Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  3:42 pm

dog walk

It was a perfect sunny day to join Jason and his dogs out in the woods.

Jason has worked as a dog walker for just a few months, and found the job when he moved to Boston from Connecticut. He had to leave his dog behind. That was one of the reasons he wanted to have a job he could be around dogs. Another reason is to have enough money for his hobby as a musician. He also has a second job as a sound technician, so there is not much spear time left. But he enjoys the time he spend with the dogs as a walker, especially on days like this!

Una

In the pic is Una waiting to run free in the woods.

We collected all the dogs around in Boston in Jason’s truck and headed towards Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain.
