Residents who live around the Starbucks at 627 Tremont St. complained about barking dogs, waiting for their owners outside of the cafe. Starbucks, then, asks patrons with pets to wait outside and call in their orders from the sidewalk. Starbucks employees will bring their beverages to them.
The original solution seems to please both neighbors and dog owners. Dogs, too, are pretty happy for not being left alone and unattended outside of Starbucks!
