Boston ranks low in Men’s Health canine poll

>   The Howler  —  SNIF  @  4:16 am

Dog at Peters Park

The magazine Men’s Health just published a rank of the best cities for presence of dogs, dog parks, shelters, day care and veterinarians. Surprisely, Boston ranked 45th out of 50. Data are not updated, and anyway, even if the number of facilities is not high, the magazine doesn’t evaluate the quality of the US cities’ dog services.
The website Dog Friendly , for example, in its 2006 qualitative analysis of dog friendly cities, ranks Boston as the 4th best city in the US and Canada where to own a dog.

New dog park opens in Cambridge!

New dog park opens in Cambridge!

A new dog park, the Pacific Street Park, will open in Cambridge this Saturday, June 10th, from 1-3 p.m
As referred in townoline.com, “the dog run entrance is at Tudor Street between Brookline Avenue and Sidney Street. The dog run features double vestibule gates for safety, a mutt mitts dispenser, a trash barrel and a grassy area for romping.

Representatives from the city and the Cambridge Dog Owners’ Group will speak, and there will be tables, information and giveaways from your favorite doggie stores and services, including Laundromutt, Raining Cats & Dogs, Crate Escape, Grey2K, Fresh Pond Animal Hospital, New England Veterinary Associates, Animal Rescue League of Boston and the Cambridge Animal Commission. There will be refreshments for humans and canines alike.

The run accommodates about 15 dogs at a time, so dog owners could have to wait for a short time to let their dogs of leash. Only well-socialized, dog-friendly and people-friendly (including with kids) dogs not in heat are welcome. The rain date is June 17.”

More info are published in the Cambridge dog owners website.
