An evening at the Carleton Dog Court

>   Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  9:18 pm

Carleton Dog Court: Ceder

Carleton Dog Court

The grounds of Carleton Dog Court, the fenced-in dog park in the South End, have just been repainted.
Here are some pics we took this afternoon. The first dog above is Ceder, a young Hungarian Rizsla. Ceder usually comes to the park with his “sister” Jillie, the beautiful Papillon pictured below, and their parents John and Marcia. Marcia owns The Pooch Palace, a dog hotel and dog care service located in Watertown, MA. And, of course, Jillie is the princess of the palace, and Ceder is the count, as Marcia referred.

The beautiful pugs pictured below are Francesca and Sofia, two preppy dogs who live in the Leather District. Sofia is too young to play with other dogs but she can’t wait to join them in the park!

And below there are lot of other beautiful dogs that were at the park today. The two gorgeous Australian Labradoodles are Maya (black) and Otis (white).

Peters Park in a cloudy day

>   Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  8:09 pm

Dog at Peters Park, Boston, MA

Here are some pics we took this afternoon at Peters Park, in the South End. It rained and the park was still a little bit wet. For this reason, no more than four dogs were there, but the park is usually more crowded.

Fort Washington in Cambridge will be temporarily closed

>   Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  10:38 am

Fort Washington in Cambridge will be temporarly closed

Last year, Fort Washington in Cambridge was designated as a place where dog owners could let their pets roam without a leash in a fenced-in area.
As an article in the Boston Globe reports today, after a season of heavy use, Fort Washington need to be closed this fall for restoration because of the damage caused by dogs.
Water Department officials proposed allowing only Cambridge-licensed dogs wearing a special medallion to roam free there, but that plan has been put on hold indefinitely.
For now, we still have the summer to enjoy the park!
