Greyhound Ballot Initiative
If you are interested in helping to ban the Greyhound racing, you should know that there is a campaign for a statewide ban.
We got updated from MSPCA about that campaign that is “setting the stage for a debate between those who believe the dogs are treated cruelly and those who say banning the races would hurt an industry that employs thousands of people”.
Yesterday greyhounds and people met in front of the steps of the State House to file the 2008 Dog Protection Act Ballot Initiative. The MSPCA along with other organizations filed the initiative petition to protect greyhounds with the Attorney General. Greyhounds walked from the State House to Ashburton Place in Boston to file the petition.
You can help by volonteering for the ProDog Ballot Initiative which will phase out greyhound racing in Massachusetts. Click here to join MSPCA in fighting the greyhound racing.

Lave Canem!
Here are some pics of cute dogs that we took at Laundromutt, at 489 Concord Ave in Cambridge, right in front of the Fresh Pond Reservoir, a park where dogs resident in Cambridge can run off-leash.
Laundromutt is a self-service dog wash, with a small shop that sells high quality food, cute leashes, and other accessories.
The owner Elisabeth, the groomer Alana, and the other members of the staff are so friendly and competent. We loved them!
Elisabeth was a trainer of dauphins, wolves and other animals before starting this business and has a lot of useful insight about training dogs, too.
Walk in and you will probably be welcome by Elisabeth’s dogs, Maya, a 10-year-old German Sheperd, and Brumby, a 3-year-old Australian Sheperd with gorgeous light blue eyes.
Upstairs, in the Barkalounge, Alana’s dogs are having some good time…
Here there is a video showing how entertaining is going to Laundromutt for a dog!
