Halloween Parade Preview
Pictured here are Bella (dressed as a Devil) and Hudson (the Lion); two beautiful Boston based Yorkies, who are getting ready to go trick-or-treating!
To kick-off the weekend we thought it would be great to get everyone excited for the Divas Unleashed Halloween Parade, which is this Sunday beginning at noon.
The parade, sponsored by Doggie Day, will start at their facility (400 Tremont St. in Boston).
As we mentioned before: there will be a costume contest for the dogs, if you are interested then make sure to sign up online and be at registration before the event.
There are some great galleries posted up from last year’s event- to see more photos, take a look at the coverage by clicking on the links by the pictures below.
The Boston Globe covered the parade last year and shows that costumes aren’t just for the dogs!

Last year, the event had over 600 humans leading 250 dogs through the streets of Boston. Flickr user “Elisharene” took great pictures at the event last year.

And Flickr User “jjchow” posted this gallery from the parade
Lastly, The Dish (a cool blog about many Boston topics) posted this gallery from last year.

The parade is going to be wonderful- bring your camera to take lots of pictures and send them into us to be posted on this site!
We hope to see you there.
And don’t forget to check our dog calendar for information about other Halloween events!

All Dogs Meetup at Amory Playground
Here are some pictures from the All Dogs meetup last Sunday, organized by Liz and Bubba (pictured above) at Amory Playground, the great park we’ve talked about before.
Amory Playground is a very big park where dogs can run off-leash during the early morning. The park is located at 45 Amory St. in Brookline, MA.
Every dog breed is very welcome to join the playgroups: dog owners, click here to join to this amazing meetup! Every weekend, you and your dog will have the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with other very nice dogs and dog owners coming from Boston and around.
The event was a lot of fun: it was beautiful and sunny out, and around 15-20 dogs of many different breeds attended. Write in the comments section if you attended and let us know what you thought of the gorgeous day at Amory Park.

The Moonlight Ball: a great success!
The Moonlight Ball, the fundraising Gala organized by the Animal Rescue League of Boston, was held last Saturday and as the pictures show: it was an extraordinary success.
Over 500 people attended the event, that took place at the Boston Cyclorama in the South End. Guests, including neighbors, donors, and workers of the ARL, enjoyed a delicious and elegant dinner.
During the event, participants shared their moving animal stories, and there was a video and wonderful photos of rescued animals projected throughout the evening.
Bruce Preston, the Director of Advancement of the ARL, described how wonderful the event was: there was a “palpable sense of camaraderie shared - it was an evening that surpassed a mere celebration. It was magic.”
And we totally agree! We were able to volunteer and we would like to thank all the workers of the ARL for giving us the opportunity to take part of such an unforgettable event!
More pictures are published here.

Zeus is Looking for a Lovely Home!
Zeus is a lovely and beautiful Dogo Argentino Mastiff- which is not a very common breed. He’s been homeless for almost a year and he is looking for a family willing to give him love and a house. He had a family for over six years, but sadly he was given to a shelter as a result of a divorce.
Zeus would make a wonderful addition to a good home: he loves playing with children, is very energetic, and very loyal.
If you are interested in adopting Zeus, please check the Underdog ResQ website and complete the form here.
