Supercute puppies are looking for a forever home!

>   Adoption  —  SNIF  @  7:17 am

Today we have a post from our good friends at www.underdogresq.org:

Owen

Butkus

We are precious little baby pit bulls who were left at a shelter - one little girl, and two cute boys. Tessa, the little girl, thinks she’s the cutest of the bunch, but Butkus and Owen are holding their own by making fast friends with the humans around.

Tessa

Tessa, pictured above, had this to say:

“I am a petite puppy of 15 pounds and I will likely be a petite adult when I am full grown. I am working very hard to get housebroken and I do really, really well in my crate. I won’t go in there, no matter what. I know sit and no and I am also working very hard to learn a couple of more commands. I would benefit from an obedience class so I can work on learning lots of different things.

I am a cuddler. I love to be picked up and carried around. I will sleep in your arms. I would like it if you would keep cuddling me and hold me. I like to bury my face in your chest and sleep like that. I also like to be rocked. I will stand up on my hind legs for you to bend over and pick me up. You will have a lap dog in me! I have a tail that wags constantly. I also have a very expressive face. I seem to always look worried because my forehead is a little wrinkly, but really, I’m just very inquisitive. I like to cock my head to one side when you speak to me so I can try to understand everything you say.

I must be pretty cute because when new people see me and meet me, they squeal really high pitched and say things like, “Whatta pwetty wittie pittie oh yes you are!” to me. No one has been able to resist picking me up and kissing my face. I am happy to kiss everyone back though, so that is quite okay!

I live with one of my littermate brothers and 2 adult female pit bulls. I also live with 4 young children and 2 adults. I can go to a home with children but I should be an only dog. I should also go to a home who knows a lot about my breed and who wants to train me in obedience. I think I’d be pretty good at agility too! I really enjoy people, big and small, and can’t wait to meet my forever home!”

To adopt Tessa, Owen or Butkus, please fill out an application on www.underdogresq.org - and for further information email info@underdogresq.org.

Missing Greyhound

>   Boston Woofstyle  —  SNIF  @  11:55 am

A sad post today…

A friend asked us to post this report. Please help if you can!

Watertown (MA) Animal Control and local authorities are looking for a Greyhound that was allegedly dumped in Rhode Island, near the RI, MA, CT border.

Initially there were two Greyhounds abandoned, although one has been recovered in CT, after the Watertown suspect in question admitted to such activity. The SP claimed to have been afraid to surrender the dogs for fear of being charged for their condition.

The Greyhound that is still missing is described as an emaciated black/white female with tattoos in both ears (right ear tattoo reads YN, left ear tattoo reads JNT. The dog is also microchipped.

The suspect individual is a white male in his 40’s, who was driving a 2007 black Chevy Suburban at the time that he abandoned the dogs.

If anyone has any information regarding seeing this vehicle in any location, or finding this Greyhound, you are urged to contact Watertown Animal Control Officer Karen OReilly at 617 972 6446.

Thanks!

Teddy at the Red Sox Parade

>   Boston Woofstyle  —  SNIF  @  1:41 am

Meet Teddy, a beautiful Bostonian Yorkshire: he stole the show at the Red Sox Parade!!!

And here is Callie, a Calico cat.
Her owner Laura wrote, “She just appeared out of nowhere one day into the feeding area where I was caring for other ferals. After a week or so, I realized that she was far too trusting and affectionate to be a feral cat. Several months later, she just one day decided that she had enough of the outdoor life and told me that she wanted to come home with me.”

Thanks Laura for giving a home to so many cats and dogs!

Sophie and Teddy were at the opening of Peters Park . Laura sponsored here a brick to remember her previous Yorkshires. Also, pictured below are Laura and Teddy with Major Menino.

Sandy

Thanks to all the readers out there who took our online survey! Well over 300 people took our survey (which is also still accessible here, even though the contest is over) which gave us plenty of fun information about you and your dogs.

As per the contest rules, we had the drawing last October 15th and we have randomly selected two winners: Elizabeth and Sandy (pictured above) from Brighton, and Adrienne and Sadie of South Boston!

Adrienne won a $500 gift card from Doggie Day in Boston.
Elisabeth won a $250 gift card from a place of her choice. She chose No Bones About It,, a grooming and day care in Brookline and owned by Karen, pictured below in a shot of Dana of La Muse Photography).

Congratulations to you both!

And thanks again to all who participated!

Where to get great portraits of your dog

>   Boston Woofstyle  —  SNIF  @  8:39 am

Divas Unleashed

We’ve been impressed by the quality of pics that Dana took at the Animal Rescue League’s Moonlight Ball and at the dog parade Divas Unleashed - the two most biggest dog-centric Halloween events organized in Boston this year.

Boston Terrier

Paulina: a Red Sox’s fan

In light of her great work, we are happy to suggest La Muse, Dana’s photography service, to the many readers of our blog.
She is also offering a mini photo session on Sunday November 25th at Lars Anderson Park.

Dana is a pet portrait photographer who works in and around the greater Boston area and she will travel to you and photograph your dogs where they are the happiest; such as a favorite park, the beach, or your back yard. Her photography definitely captures the personality of who your dog really is.

Dana also has a blog, where you can see more of her pictures:
