Many vets offer a Lyme disease vaccine now. We have both our dogs vaccinated. It doesn't however, stop the dogs from bringing the ticks into our house. Frontline does that well - it kills any tick, flea, yuck that gets on the pups.

It is really important that people are aware of tick season because Lyme disease is not only horrific for the dog, but people can contract it as well. One night, after coming home from an "off-leash" romp in the woods, I found a tick on Chopper! Luckily I caught it before it was able to bite my baby. It was a scary experience to say the least.
