A Sunday at Brookline Playground

>   Dog Events, Dog Parks  —  SNIF  @  8:46 am

Last Sunday it was a beautiful sunny day at Brookline Playground. There were several dogs having fun at the park: members of the All Dogs Play meetup as well as dogs who live around the park.

The Brookline Playground is huge and you can take your dog off-leash there every day before 1pm. Plus, the park is totally fenced-in!

Little Yorkshire meetup

If your Yorkshire is tiny and you would like to socialize him or her with other Yorkshires of the same size, join the Little Yorkshire meetup! This group of amazing Yorkshire owners meet every month in Boston. Here are some photos from the meetup that took place last Sunday at Doggie Day, a day care and pet boutique located at 400 Tremont St in Boston.
Kellyann, the owner of Baby, and Kat, the owner of Chou Chou, started this playgroup around one year ago. Month after month, the group got bigger and several gorgeous little yorkies attend the event now!

Among the new members who attended the event there was Taki (pictured below) with his owner Maria. We met Taki several months ago, when he was a puppy, and we went hiking with Kevin, a dog walker, and a group of other dogs.
Taki is now one-year-old, and he is still more beautiful!

Little Yorkshires Halloween Party

The little Yorkie Abby

Kellyann and Baby, the founders of the Little Yorkies meetup, organized a Halloween party and, despite Halloween is gone, we have to share with you these amazing pictures!
The creepy photo setting was really amazing, with its giant spider, RIP graves, and ghosts.
As always, this meetup set a high standard for dog parties!

Happy Birthday Kanjii and Roxie Doxie!

>   Dog Events  —  SNIF  @  9:17 am

This is a very special weekend for two of our favorite Bostonian dogs: Kanjii, a beautiful shitzu-cockapoo mix, is turning 7, and Roxie Doxie, a Dachshund, is turning 2.

Happy birthday to both of you!!

If you happen to be in Brookline this weekend, you can stop by Cause to Paws to say happy birthday to Kanjii. She is the loyal companion and “co-worker” of Terry, who owns the pet boutique with her sister EG.

Also, Roxie Doxie, Amanda’s Dachshund, recently appeared on Channel 7: CONGRATULATIONS ROXIE, we are proud of you!

Unfortunately, one of our favorite costumes, the lobster, didn’t win any prize, but we still liked it very much anyway!

All profits from the parade benefited dogs from Canine Companions for Independence. There was an impressive demonstration of what these dogs can do to help people with disabilities on the stage. This great organization raised a lot of awareness of their cause with the parade but more help is needed to train their smart dogs - so please contact them if you can!

Dana, the professional photographer of La Muse Photo, took a lot of great pictures at the event. You check them here (click on “View my photoshoot on the top right of her home page).

Our friend Amy, who volunteered at the Parade, published more pics here.
You can see there more images of the parade, the judges (as the one below, with her wonderful costume), the organizers and all other dogs who have participated to the parade.

And even more photos of the day are available in our Flickr account.

To kick-off the weekend we thought it would be great to get everyone excited for the Divas Unleashed Halloween Parade, which is this Sunday beginning at noon.

The parade, sponsored by Doggie Day, will start at their facility (400 Tremont St. in Boston).

As we mentioned before: there will be a costume contest for the dogs, if you are interested then make sure to sign up online and be at registration before the event.

There are some great galleries posted up from last year’s event- to see more photos, take a look at the coverage by clicking on the links by the pictures below.

The Boston Globe covered the parade last year and shows that costumes aren’t just for the dogs!
Boston Globe Coverage

Last year, the event had over 600 humans leading 250 dogs through the streets of Boston. Flickr user “Elisharene” took great pictures at the event last year.

And Flickr User “jjchow” posted this gallery from the parade

Lastly, The Dish (a cool blog about many Boston topics) posted this gallery from last year.

The parade is going to be wonderful- bring your camera to take lots of pictures and send them into us to be posted on this site!

We hope to see you there.
And don’t forget to check our dog calendar for information about other Halloween events!
